Today...we catch up on what's going on on the ground in Afghanistan. And we talk about why it wouldn't be a good idea to commit another 40 thousand troops and in so doing...perhaps energize and heighten the influence of the Taliban. Aren't they our enemy?

Tonight on TMI with Aldous Tyler (Live 8PM Eastern, 7PM Central, 6PM Mountain, 5PM Pacific)
Halloween is tomorrow, so we talk about what's REALLY scary!
At the top of the hour, Aldous talks to Raven, Proprietor of Ravenworks, about the scary prospect of trying to make a new retail business not only survive in this economy, but thrive! Given that Ravenworks is the finest supplier of costumery and outfits in Madison, Raven has strategies to make sure her business keeps going and growing even when the ghoulies and ghosties of October fade into memory.
Also discussed this episode: What does Halloween mean, for us, as a society? Is it just another chance for big business to cash in on cultural traditions? Are the Religious Right zealots right when they fear that it will be used to indocrinate our youth to evil? What about its roots in old holidays from Europe, Mexico and elsewhere? Aldous explores this truly American holiday.
Don't miss this special episode of TMI with Aldous Tyler!

Today an update on health care...with the House Democrats unveiling their plan...which is...as expected...a bit more robust--that is to say better...smarter...and more progressive than the Senate plan. Next step is a conference to work out the differences between the two and that will be a VERY IMPORTANT thing to keep an eye on. We'll try to help you do it.
Also today...an update on the Fox News dispute with the White House. And could it be that Shepard Smith...who occasionally tries to balance the rampant 24-hour conservatism at Fox...might simply be playing the role of "good cop" --at least in the eyes of progressive-minded Fox critics? Just askin'.

Today's entire program is devoted to a look at the gang rape of a 15-year-old girl in California...an event that was apparently photographed by some...and laughed at by others--none of whom called the authorities. Why? We went looking for some answers.
